Re: Do you use a Attic Fan?

Hey, Mark, not to hijack your thread, but...

It's "an" attic fan.

Re: Do you use a Attic Fan?

WE don't have an attic fan, wish we did. We have ventilated soffit (sp?) so the attic can "breath". My best friend has an attic fan and her house stays much cooler than ours does in the first part of the summer. We've talked about installing one when we redo the roof and (pray to GOD!) get central air next year.

Re: Do you use a Attic Fan?

The house I lived with my parents in had an attic fan. An actual attic fan, the kind that seals itself when it's not in use and opens vents to the rest of the house when it is to circulate air upwards.

I don't know how much it saved on bills of any kind, but my stepfather raved about it.

We have this also (got this new fan when they put on a new roof for us 2 years ago). It has worked well!

Re: Do you use a Attic Fan?

Have one, and believe me, it helped before we had the central air put in.

Re: Do you use a Attic Fan?

I've thought about getting a whole house fan. Does anyone know about how much it is to have one installed?

Re: Do you use a Attic Fan?

Wendy, I think they average around $400, then there's the installation.

Mine came with the house, just like the riding mower

Re: Do you use a Attic Fan?

I'll bet a handyman or 2 could install it Wen, get a price maybe from home depot or a good handyman service, if it is ridiculously high we can prolly figure something out.
