"This has been truly unbelievable," co-owner Kathy Newcomb said. "We're all still in such a state of shock, but are hopeful when it comes to rebuilding."
The fire began shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, and required firefighters from nine Sussex County agencies to combat the blaze. According to Craig Stephens, president of the Lewes Fire Department, the blaze was difficult to contain due to high winds and cold temperatures which fanned flames under the building.
