I'm not going to watch... I believe you when you tell me things about dogs, Py, so potential cruelty is not the reason I won't watch. I'm not a fan of horse racing, greyhound racing or this... I'm not a fan of greyhound racing, and I'm not a fan of what American horse racing has evolved into, either.

There are lots of sports involving people and animals that I am a fan of, though.

Lure coursing, flyball, and agility to name a few for the dogs. Convincing a dog owner to become active in flyball or agility might be the difference between a dog having a happy home or being abandoned for some dogs who need a job to do, and do not make good lay-about house pets.

I certainly can't argue with that, Py... I never even considered those.

I loved doing agility with my Lab.

The thought of jumping over something probably never would have occurred to him on his own, but once we learned it, sometimes I'd peek in the backyard to see what he was doing and catch him jumping over the canoe.. just for the fun of it I can only guess, because there was no other reason to, he could have just as easily walked around.
