Given recent history (notice I didn't say the last 8 years), it's hard to be optimistic about alternative energy being a reality.
A couple State of the Union's ago, our President mentioned "switch grass"... I was like switch grass? what grass is he smoking? He is only paying lip service to alternative energy while in office. Maybe after him and his oil buddies are gone, we'll see some change for the better.
Ironic though. Wind. It's free. Such a simple solution right in front our eyes... Yet we import foreign oil (most of it from Canada, believe it or not).
Bet they've got some good wind too north of the border.

Picken is one sly Texan...........There are 2 areas of the US that have substantial wind pockets. T. Boone has bought up alot of the land in the Texas pocket. His biggest problem to overcome is not the "rah-rah" of renewable energy, but how to attach the energy to the grid! That is part of reaching out and generating public opinion. Another thing that's not put out there about good ol' T. Boone, he's quietly buying up water rights to aquifers, the thought is water will be the next commodity to be traded on the market.
