Anyone travelling by air this summer?

From 1996 - 2006 I flew over a million miles. Since 2006, I've flown less than 5000 and no plans on flying for at least another year. How 'bout you folks? Anyone venturing to the airport this summer?

After last summer's travel nightmare of delays and cancellations, airlines and the federal government promised that things would be better this year. But, so far, this summer is just as miserable.

Oh, man... it's awful. The delays are longer, the seats are narrower, and the leg space is even more cramped. Nowadays, not only do you have to pay $7 for a stale sandwich, they're even charging you for checking your bags. From now on, it's carry-on only and packed lunches for me!

Hubby swears he's never flying anywhere again unless absolutely unavoidable.

Re: Anyone travelling by air this summer?

I haven't flown for personal reasons in the past 10 years. I have flown for business about 5 times in the past 10 years.

If I can drive it, I prefer to keep my feet firmly on the ground. Or, at least, on the gas pedal.

Re: Anyone travelling by air this summer?

I fly all the time for work. It is what it is. I walk on dressed to easily get through security and travel with a carry on bag. I get my seats in the very back so because no one wants to sit back there and I usually have plenty of room.

That's how I used to do it...if I weren't in 1st Class, I was in the back of the bus...if it was just an over niter, my laptop bag had enough space for everything I needed...if it were multi-stop dog and pony show I just checked the bag...before 9/11, I was a just-in-time flyer...that became impossible after 9/11, so I had to build in time...I used to read a lot more back in those days.....

Re: Anyone travelling by air this summer?

I hate flying. I was flying alot in Dec and Jan for work but haven't flown since. I don't plan on flying until next year when I go on vacation. THe only reason i'll do it then is because I can't drive to the Bahamas.
