Two women injured in restaurant stabbing

A restaurant cook infatuated with a waitress and angry that she rejected his advances was in police custody Monday night after the woman was accosted and stabbed in a restroom.

The 23-year-old Newark man allegedly attacked the 19-year-old woman in a restroom in the rear of Houlihan's Restaurant, near Christiana Mall, shortly before 6 p.m. One of the woman's coworkers who tried to intervene also was injured.

The man, whose name was not immediately released, had been working at the restaurant for a little more than a month and had been making advances toward the 19-year-old from the onset, police said. Monday, she told him again that she was not interested.

I witnessed something similar to this happen at the Denny's by the skating rink one morning. A server and a cook got into a fight in the middle of the restaurant glass, blood, everything. Cleared the whole restaurant, i think a lot of people got free breakfast, and a show.

People are crazy!

We live in Christiana and last night Hope went out for cat food. I heard sirens everywhere so I call her to make sure she was ok. She was then a bit after she came home sirens screaming again. Then I saw this on the news this morning. Explains it all.

We were leaving Costco and saw the emergency vehicles. We couldn't figure out what was going on since it didn't look like a car crash or fire. What a mess-and how sad for those two ladies. Did anyone else see him on the news saying he was proud of what he had done? Scary.
