SICK WOMAN, 38, MAY HAVE DIED OF COLD IN PATTAYA Updated: [January 14, 2009 ] :: 15:17:10 [view 411] SICK WOMAN, 38, MAY HAVE DIED OF COLD IN PATTAYA
At 4:00 pm. on the 13th January 2009 Pattaya Police Inspector, Pol. Lt. Col. Anan Thamchaikul was informed that a 38 year-old poor lady had died on open ground in Soi Buakow in Pattaya. A two month old dog was watching over her.
Miss Saiphon Darasri, residing at 41 Moo. 17, Meunggae, Tahtoom, Surin was found dead lying on a mat, in the open, behind the "Made in Thailand" market. She was wearing a T-shirt and shorts and had been dead for about 2 hours. Her dog was sitting next to her body. Police found no signs of attack and presumed she may have died from her sickness and the cold.
Her husband, Mr. Thanatorn Suwithi [43], said his wife was a fortune teller. She was normally drunk all the time except during the last three days before she died when he’d told her to stop drinking because she was sick. On the day she died, he was going round beer bars where he cleaned customer’s shoes for a living. He came back in the morning to sleep and woke up in the afternoon to find that she had already dead.
Police have sent her body for examination at the Banglamung Hospital.
(PDN writes: Many are commenting on the abnormally cold weather currently affecting Thailand, apparently caused by cold air blowing in from China. The psychological barrier of 20 degrees Celsius has been breached at night and local tourists have complained that it’s too cold to sit on the beach! Bangkok residents are facing the coldest temperatures for a decade. Assoc. Professor Thanawat Jarupongsakul at Chulalongkorn University predicts that Thailand will see snow within 50 years as a result of extreme weather conditions caused by global warming. For the moment, expect the cold spell to continue well into next week.)

RETIRED FRENCH POLICE OFFICER STABBED BY HIS THAI WIFE IN PATTAYA Updated: [January 14, 2009 ] :: 12:42:13 [view 660] RETIRED FRENCH POLICE OFFICER STABBED BY HIS THAI WIFE IN PATTAYA
At 04.00 am on 13th January, Pattaya police investigator Pol. Lt. Col. Patsah Detchpakul, was informed by staff at the Pink Apartment in Pattaya that a man had been stabbed and seriously injured by his wife.
Police and a rescue team rushed to the scene immediately at Soi Central Pattaya road 12, Moo. 9 where in room no. 173/5 on the second floor they found Mr. Serge Alain Delplanque [59] , a French national, lying on the floor with his hand holding a stab wound on his stomach. There was another wound on his left arm and both wounds were bleeding profusely. The rescue team rushed him to Bangkok Pattaya Hospital and luckily he survived.
In the messy room police also found a Thai lady, Miss Wipa Srithong [22] , residing at 99 Moo. 10 Kutkahkim, Rattanaburi, Surin Province. She was crying, sitting on the bed with blood on her hands and clothes. A 5 in. long knife with a broken handle was found on the floor. Miss Wipa explained that she had been living with Mr. Delplanque, a recently retired police officer with the Crime Suppression Department in France, as husband and wife for quite some time.
On the night of the incident, they went out to drink and were both very drunk when they got back to their room. She said they had a heavy argument and when he started shouting at her she could take it no more. She then grabbed a sharp knife to threaten him because she thought he was going to hurt her. As he tried to take the knife from her, she said she accidently stabbed him.
However the police took her into custody to file a report and there will be further investigation when Mr. Delplanque has recovered. | Re: How News is reported in other lands

Thai woman selling her daughter Updated: [January 16, 2009 ] :: 17:32:17 [view 194] PATTAYA POLICE ARREST THAI WOMAN FOR SELLING HER 8 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER
A Thai woman, accused of being an agent of human trafficking, has been arrested in her shack on the outskirts of Pattaya. Police say she has been supplying young children to foreign tourists over a long period, including her own daughter who is now being treated in a psychiatric hospital.
On 14th January 2009, a police team accompanied by a group of officials including Pol. Lt. Col. Preecha Somsatan of the Crimes Against Children and Women Suppression Division Region 2 and Mr. Supakorn Noja of the Child and Female Protection Squad, served Miss Somjai or Mam Prombut [29] residing at 123/147 Moo. 8 Houyyai , Banglamung, Chonburi with an arrest warrant from Pattaya court No. Jor. 2051/2551, issued on 22 December 2008.
Mr. Supakorn said Miss Somjai had been procuring young thai girls, less than 15 years old for middle to old aged foreign men. Each time she had received 500-1000 Baht ($1 = 34 Baht) from the customer and another 300-400 Baht ($1 = 34 Baht) from the child. She was accused of running this business for a long time
Mr. Supakorn also said that Miss Somjai had sold her daughter to a French man for sexual services when the girl was 8 years old and had continued selling her for 7 years. Sadly the girl is now in a psychiatric hospital in Nonthaburi [Srithanya Hospital].
The French man, Mr. Mr.Jean Claude Chamoux [then 56], was arrested on 25 August 2005 charged with the abduction of minors including ten children aged between 8 and 15. Further investigations lasting several years led to the connection between Mr. Chamoux and Miss Somjai at which point police managed to get a warrant for her arrest. She has denied all charges against her. Miss Somjai, an ex bar worker and according to the Bangkok Post, HIV positive, faces 10-20 years in jail and/or a fine of up to 400,000 baht ($11,467.89 US DOLLARS)
Mr. Chamoux, was released on bail but managed to escape from Thailand. He was later arrested in his room in France where police discovered many pictures of Thai children. The French police have requested the cooperation of the Thai police to issue a warrant for the arrest of Mr. Chamoux so he can be sent back to Thailand for trial where he could face life imprisonment. | Re: How News is reported in other lands

| | ”Arab states urge Israel to kill Gaza leaders” Posted: 18-12-2008 , 11:04 GMT Israel has
recently received messages from "senior Arab official" urging the Hebrew state to resume its assassinations
attacks in the Gaza Strip, the Tel Aviv-based Maariv reported. According to the newspaper, one of the messages
even said "take their heads off", in reference to the Hamas leadership in the coastal territory.
The Arab officials, according to the daily, urged Israel to hit Hamas if the latter decides not to resume the
calm with Israel.
The Israeli hit-list includes top figures from Hamas military and political wings. On the top of the list are
Hamas commanders Ahmed Jabari, Ibrahim Ghandour and Mohammed Deif, who has been on Israel's most
wanted list for over a decade and was wounded several times in the past in Israeli strikes. The Israel targets include also senior political leaders such as former Palestinian premier,
Ismail Haniyeh, the former foreign minister Mahmoud a Zahar and the former interior minister, Saeed Siyam. Maariv reports that another name on the Israeli list is of Palestinian Legislative Council member and Chairperson
of the Popular Committee against the Siege, Jamal Al Khudari. Israeli security sources have been claiming he is
close aide to Haniyeh and "deeply involved in terror activities."
It should be mentioned that Israeli transport minister Shaul Mofaz was quoted recently as saying that Israel
should "cut off the heads" of Hamas leaders in the Gaza Strip. He publicly declared his backing to the return
of policy of assassination against the Hamas leaders.

| | Updated: [January 27, 2009 ] :: 15:04:51 [view 549] UNIDENTIFIED FOREIGN MAN FOUND DEAD OUTSIDE PATTAYA CONDO
An unidentified foreign man has been found dead with multiple injuries on the ground behind the Rimhat Jomtien Condo. The cause of death is so far unknown.
At 6.40 am on 27th January 2009, Pattaya police investigator, Pol.Capt Pradipat Poomlee of the Dongtan branch, was notified that a foreign man had been found dead at the condo located at 350/64 Moo. 12 , Jomtien Beach Road. He then rushed to the scene with his team, a rescue team and doctors from Banglamung Hospital.
At the scene they found the body of a foreign man lying face down on the ground near some bushes. He was about 40-45, of European appearance and wearing a short sleeved grey t-shirt and blue shorts. When his body was turned over, police found many of his bones were broken and his stomach was split wide open. It was estimated he had been dead for about 7 hours. There was no identification or evidence of who he was. Police carried out an examination of the 16-floor building including the roof-deck. On the 14th floor they found a Marlboro cigarette-end on the balcony of the fire exit which coincided with the point where the body was found. Police presumed he had fallen from this point.
Pattaya Superintendent Pol.Col. Sarayut Sa-ngoun Pohkai, said that after questioning the condo staff and security guards, nobody could identify the dead person, whether he was a resident or a visitor. Police speculated that he may have been on the balcony having a cigarette and accidentally fell or committed suicide.
His body has been transferred to the forensic lab at the police Hospital for examination and the police would be carrying out further investigations. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
