LOL I think someone visited the "WRONG" site and did infect the router. Or the same person shared a file.

That is the stuff that swore me off the News Groups. I use to set my news reader to download large files while I was at work. When I got home I would go through it all and some of the things I got were scary, freaky and downright sickening.

yes, reboot the router but if your pc is infected you need to disinfect it. need a good description of what is going on to help more in that respect.

I'd do a system restore back to a point before the infection.

I was looking at a song lyrics site once, and got some BS virus infection that wanted me to buy a particular software after a "scan" found tons of stuff on my computer. The only way I could get rid of the annoying "alert message" was to buy their software.

System Restore cured that problem right fast.

Also, go to a healthy PC and dowload Hijackthis onto a thumb drive and install it on the bad PC.

hijackthis is very thorough but its output/report is vrey hard to read and you usually need to find someone to decrypt it for you.

mbam/malwarebytes is great, definitely recommended.

Any good ones? I'm simply pointing out an often overlooked outcome: there's a potentially bright side to everything!.
