| | | I wish I had thought about spending Christmas & New Years at the beach earlier. I can imagine getting a good deal on a Condo or House with a fireplace and some other cozy comforts.
I imagine laying back on the sofa before a lit fireplace and Christmas music lightly playing in the background as I read or surf the net on my tablet PC.
I think I am going to look into this for next year.

| | | My parents did that this Christmas (and now through most of January). They are 'wintering' in Sea Isle City, NJ at a friend's rental 2 blocks from the beach while they are waiting for their house in Smyrna to be built. They are REALLY enjoying themselves down there...they take long walks on the beach (have gotten HUGE shells), my dad has been riding his bike and they pretty much have the whole town to themselves. Sometimes they go a whole day without seeing a car drive by. They feel very spoiled right now. We are heading there for New Year's Eve....should be different being down there when it's so quiet!

| | | I'd love to live at the beach period. I love the sound of the surf and the smell of the ocean. We'd never get away with going anywhere for the holidays though. Both our parents would guilt trip the crap out of us.

| | | Sounds nice if you like that kind of quiet and solitude. Personally, it would drive me bonkers. I need people, action, things to do and places to go.
I'd rather do a Colorado mountain Xmas with a big fireplace, ski all day and entertainment in town all night.... maybe Vail. That's like the best of both worlds. | Re: Winter Holiday at the beach

| | | I love getting away from it all... I have people over at my house practically every weekend.
Somewhere quiet would be a nice change...
This is why I go camping a lot in the summer... Sorry - not home this weekend - going camping!
And, I LOVE THE MOUNTAINS!

I think I am going to look into this for next year. Funny thing I was surfing through and hit this post. Exactly what I'm doing now and I'm at work. We've taken the Christmas music off. I have oldies on. Life is tough. | Re: Winter Holiday at the beach

I think I am going to look into this for next year. Nothing like having your own place at the beach. Winter time is a fun time. It's the off season and most restaurants are still open.

| | | It's cheaper in the off season to book rooms there too...
Was down in Rehoboth during the last snowstorm, had a great time, enjoyed the hot tub, and the pool.... had a nic-o-boli and Grottos on the second night.... Nicola all the way....

| | | We were at Myrtle Beach one winter a few years ago and we got a room on the beach in a brand name Hotel for less then $30.00 per night. And they had special prices for a week. | Re: Winter Holiday at the beach
