After the legnthy month I held the honor of being MOTM, I was not involved with any sex scandals,(that I will admit to in court) I did not imbezzle any money from the govt, and I did not inhale!!!!
I polished the crown up for you sir, so please wear it proudly...
Great job Joe....

| | | Thank all of you who posted congratulations and best wishes concerning this award. Instead of thanking each of you individually--which ALL of you will be able to read anyway, should you choose to do so--I'm doing it this way in the interest of bandwidth reduction.
I deal with numerous entities through this incredible medium we all call the "web." Talk Delaware is truly unique, not just in the way it's administered, but also in the way in which the participants conduct themselves.
While I have never posted anything on this board with the goal of securing a "Member of the Month" award, I really appreciate receiving it. More importantly, no award carries the same level of impact that a peer award does. I thank all of you.
For me, the months of April, May, and June are unbelievably busy. This is especially true when I consider that I retired in 2003 so that I would be able to address the issues that I wanted to address.
The problem is that those issues have taken me all across the United States several times and to other places--including the Middle East--that, for the average person, are just news reports.
I mention this because I told this group that I'd be posting to a thread called ELECTION - 2008. So far I've only managed to post two items. I have not forgotten about it, though, and I'll be posting more as time permits.
I am not one who believes that the United States is going to Hell in a hand basket, being carried by the "liberals," or the "conservatives." Neither do I think that our youth will be our ultimate downfall.
They won't be. In fact, our children are the only real chance we have for surviving as a species. This is why it's so critical for us to teach them how to think instead of what to think.
Regards,

Regards,
Joe Walther Joe, congratulations my friend. I agree with your statement above as a father who has raised 5 children I firmly believe that this great country will survive and continue to prosper. I do however think we have made some wrong turns, just my opinion I truly believe that we went wrong when we decided that families were not our number one priority. I for one have a father in law who is 76 or so and is sharp as a tack and teaches my children hell he teaches me, and not by lecturing me but by his actions. I am a firm believer that a child is a product of his/her environment so if you want a smart and compassionate child act that way it's apparently easy to raise a uncouth idiot. My family and I are doing our part to keep this great countries founding ideas alive black white red and yellow we are all Americans and we need to start saying our families are more important then anything money can buy.
Joe you are absolutely right when you say this site is unique, it is in many ways but to me the people here are what makes this such a great experience from the posters to the administrators they are truly a great bunch.
