Re: FREE: Abv Ground Swimming Pool

We scrap all our used brass, copper, aluminum, steel, etc.. We always get a decent amount back.. But that's after saving it for a whole year...
It's sick what you get for scrap metal..

Re: FREE: Abv Ground Swimming Pool

I used to work in fire protection, sprinkler heads (older ones) are almost all brass, whenever we did demo we would fill 55 gal drums with those heads, a 55 gal drum of brass is a good chunk of change, we could fill 1 a month usually. and a few truckloads of steel pipe a month...

Re: FREE: Abv Ground Swimming Pool

Christ...
That's insane... We mostly fill 5 gallon buckets each with clean brass and copper..

We usually fill 5 or 6 of them in a year.. Each one weighing about 200 lbs. a piece..

Pays for our inventory meals and then some.....

It's a shame what we do with faucets, shower valves and trim or any plumbing product when they go devalued or obsolete.... But there's a lot of money in every bit of it...

Re: FREE: Swimming Pool earth filter and pump

changed the title to earth type filter and pump, and accessories/misc chemicals too.....

the pool itself is done and i figure if i take it apart right i might fit it in the suv to take to the scrap yard.

i started demo last night, took the razor knife and cut out the liner.

dug a hole at the lowest point to the backyard and let the rest of the few inches of water drain out

while cutting and what not i almost fell in that nasty water, the slime that formed on the floor was super slick!

got all that done and started taking it apart, got all the top rail/decking off and started on the support columns

still got more work to do

If you ask Dad he might be able to bring home that trailor wagon thing from his work and pull it on the back of his work van. Then you could just pile it all on top and take it to wherever in one trip.

You may want to try listing something on Craigslist. We got rid of some landscaping block through them. Or Freecycle.com.

Re: FREE: Swimming Pool earth filter and pump

I will check that out Twins

well i got to works some more on it yesterday. I have all the top rail off, the deck unscrewed and backed off the pool. I ripped all the pool supports out and the retaining wall and liner are down now.

I'm going to pack it all up and start moving the bricks to the front yard and using the sand to level out the back yard.

I'll take a pic later, it's a hot mess right now...lol
