What kind of mattress do you have ?

Our house in the mountains the steps are very narrow and steep and we can not get a queen size box spring up the steps.
So for the last two years we have a pillow top air mattress there. It is a sleigh bed and is very high, so is the mattress and I am afraid, I know that sounds stupid but it is true. I always feel like I am going to fall out of bed, so I never sleep in the bed.

Here we have a sleep number bed and I love it, and it would work because the box spring is in 4 sections. I am not sure that I want to spend that much money for a house that we are never at.

Any suggestions ?

Re: What kind of mattress do you have ?

How about two twin box springs under the queen?

edit: Do two extra long twin box springs with a king mattress.

I would suggest our new bed...but with what you just described...it may not work out. Plus, you have to pole-vault into ours.hahahahahaha!

I do love it though!!

Two Twins are equal to the width dimentions of a King, or an Eastern King if you want to get more specific. There would be about 16" of extra box spring width using two Twins under a Queen mattress, call them built in shelves ?

Re: What kind of mattress do you have ?

Dont that make 2 piece box springs for Queen ?

But if the box spring wont fit how will the mattress ?

Go to a quality store that delivers and let them figure it out

Have any big windows upstairs ??

Re: What kind of mattress do you have ?

I agree with Frog...definitely go to a good mattress store and see how they could do it. We have a turning, narrower staircase and the guys got the monster mattress up there no problem.

Re: What kind of mattress do you have ?

Here's an online do it yourself forum with someone who had your exact problem. They bought a split queen box spring from American Mattress, I think.

Re: What kind of mattress do you have ?

the windows are too narrow
thanks Kid we have checked into the split but maybe i need to do further research they are expensive
If we moved the sleep number bed up there and bought a new one for here that would solve the problem just a bit short on cash right now.
