| | I take the womans placenta, rinse it. Steam it with ginger and lemon on stove top, this is TCM (traditional chinese method). Then I slice it, dehydrate it for abou 6-8hrs. Grind it into a powder. Encapsulate it. Then the mom ingest it for a few weeks after birth.
Is excellent for PPD, increasing milk supply, increasing energy and decreasing lochia (PP bleeding). The idea behind it is that you are replacing the hormones the mother lost during the birthing process. Here is a great article about it, Placenta for Healing.
Each womans placenta is unique to her because it's hormonal make up matches her. The most enriched placenta is the first born males.
Placenta is used in A LOT of cosmetics today. It has amazing anti-aging effects.
The pills can be kept indefinitely in the freezer. Really great if mom needs a supply boost later on, feeling run down or for a mood pick me up. They are also great during menopause! | Re: Placenta Encapsulation Workshop!

| | | No. You can dehydrate it from raw. Some people consume it raw.
Regardless method of preparation it still contains the hormones that are benefiticial.
When we cook a steak for example are we losing the benefits of it by not eating raw? No. It still has benefits to it. | Re: Placenta Encapsulation Workshop!

There are many ways to prepare your placenta for ingestion. Some women feel comfortable putting placenta in a smoothie, or creating a special recipe for it. Some women even consume it raw. These methods will work, but they limit the length of time you are able to utilize the benefits of placenta to a matter of days. | Re: Placenta Encapsulation Workshop!

Guess what's NOT for dinner anymore.
I prefer my placenta with a side of fava beans and a nice chianti.

| | | ok, it's all I can do to keep my mouth shut but, ew.
I won't for a second look down on Chinese remedy's or organic cures. Hell I firmly believe that your mind is a great healer, but this is over the top as far as I'm concerned. Although if it works for you who am I to bitch about it, and from your pictures you look healthy and you have beautiful children so something you are doing is right. But damn girl, ew.....
