I could never get over the stomach upset with the Morph...you know its bad when you can't even keep down water! I was in a morphine coma for a few days back in the 90's when I had a cyst removed....demerol was another good one...that takes you right to the edge, where morphine can push you over it...

Tried it ... I'd rather stick to a couple of vaporizer hits of some good herb. This drank stuff gave me a monster headache and I felt like I was wading through jello.

I have to say. I grew up in a time when Qualudes were a legal, non-prescription and a quarter a piece at the local pharmacy and you could get paregoric (Anhydrous Morphine) over-the-counter. The herb was still better.

Re: Meet Drank, The Anti-Energy Drink

I used to buy a small bottle of Vick's Formula 44 cough syrup for my weekends, back when it was still brown and made up of equal parts sugar syrup, menthol, alcohol and codeine. (This was before I ever drank, smoked or had a bong hit.) That was the shit, man, I'd sip from it like it was a hip flask and be really mellow. I was so pissed off when they changed the formula and made it taste like "cherry", YUCK!

I never really got into the DXM products. Always disliked the taste and effect of Robot-tussin and its clones.

If I had any of this stuff, ya'll wouldn't get me to talk or move for the next 12 hours. Unless it was to hit somebody who was trying to get me to move or talk.

Re: Meet Drank, The Anti-Energy Drink

While I am all for responsible people deciding what they put into thier bodies, I find the DMX crowd to not be so rational. An experiment that is well considered is something I would bave no problems with. But, DXM is a horrible thing to use for intoxication. The line between intoxication and actual toxic effects is very thin.

I know a number of people who got involved in the Skittling culture. They buy or steal a number of boxes of Corricidin or other over the counter cold meds with DMX in them. Then, they take up to several DOZEN of the pills. They say it is like taking LSD. Sure, they hallucinate - but it is less like a psychedelic experience than an actual psychotic break.

One woman I know, and her boyfriend, kept doing this despite the best advice of myself and others who knew them. To them, it was all fun and games. Until one day they boyfriend got the idea in his head that she was hording the pills.

He stabbed her repeatedly. It took several hundred stiches to put her together again, including a gash that runs the entire length of her arm and her nearly entirely severed breast.

Not to mention that, eight years later, she is still mentally screwed up. She regularly spends time in local hospital psychiatric departments and has spent time in some of the big national hospitals (I'm trying not to give enough info to identify her, in case anyone here knows her). She spent some time in my wife and my home.

She regularly have conversations with others "in her head", and she got crucial social advice from a desk lamp. She once gave us great concern for everyone's safety when she said, with grave concern, that she was "comming to a conclusion" after having a lengthy conversation with the desk lamp.

Vicks 44 - I used to go to the local pharmacy and get terpin hydrate with codeine. It was the strongest legal codeine preparation. A small bottle would last me for three or four days.

I knew a guy back when we were young who OD'd on Delsom and was out of it for literally 3 days. We thought he died....
