I could never get a hold of the good codeine cough syrup.
Man...I love codeine.
Last time I had some, I'm thinking it was 1996 though. Pain medicine of any kind, really, other than OTC. | | The Following User Says Thank You to Kid Lester For This Useful Post:

My Mood: | | | Re: Meet Drank, The Anti-Energy Drink I don't take medicine of any kind, specifially because I don't want that "Drank" feeling. Aside from taking a round of treatment for Shingles (mostly because I didn't want nerve damage and/or shingles on my wedding day) I haven't taken anything else in a decade or so.
I don't take aspirin, allergy medicine, cough syrup, or anything of that nature as a rule of thumb. I don't know if there's something wrong with me or not, but that kind of stuff just really affects me, and not in a good way.

C'mon over, my friend. My medicine cabinet looks like I'm waiting to commit suicide by pharmacology.
And, for what it's worth, I prefer Percocets... or Morphine. Love me the Morphine.
(No, I don't take this stuff recreationally and, yes, it was prescribed for injuries.) | | The Following 4 Users Say Thank You to witchofthedogs For This Useful Post:

I got put on Tylenol 3 w/Codeine a couple times as a young man. I had a boil at the base of my spine once that had to get lanced and packed...and I was in a 3 day Codeine semi-coma. I actually kind of liked it.
Then in 1996 I got a cracked back tooth that I got the T3's for again. I'd take those babies at night in front of the tube and drift, drift, drift awaaaaaayyyy. Mmmmmm. That was nice.
But you gotta know your limitations. I don't do drugs because they're bad. I don't do them because I know I'd like 'em too much. | | The Following 4 Users Say Thank You to Kid Lester For This Useful Post:

I'm partial to vicodin (hydrocodone) 800mg myself. I spent 2003 in a vicodin haze recovering from an auto accident. Add in the muscle relaxer soma, and you've got quite a fun afternoon ahead of ya. The vicodin buzz gets you to the point where you can feel your hair growing, and the soma sends controls messages to the part of your brain that controls motor function so you can't do anything about it.
You can buy codeine over the counter in Canada. I got a big bottle last time I was up there on business. You can also buy Cuban cigars in Canada. AND they have a Molson product called Rickard's Red (was experimented in the US under the name Red Jack) which is one of the BEST mass-produced ales I've ever had.

Site Supporter | | | | | Re: Meet Drank, The Anti-Energy Drink Kid, I have had vicodin and percocet for any one of the following: separated shoulder, herniated disc, brain condition, and three surgeries.
The morphine was so they could x-ray the shoulder after the wreck.
I would have to argue that it's hard to go through any one of those particular events without some kind of narcotic. Granted, after the first day or so (aside from the brain condition), I switched over to something less coma-inducing, but they were certainly necessary at the time.
As for the brain condition, I was taking 2 vicodin every two hours and it made no difference. But that's a whole other story. ETA: I try not to take vicodin any more because I have a great deal of difficulty sleeping while on it. I'll doze and then wake and doze and then wake and never actually sleep. Which is fun for a day and then sucks thereafter. | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to witchofthedogs For This Useful Post:

It was 1988...just about this time of year. It was during the French Open...the one that Michael Chang won. He was my age at the time, and American. It seemed like I would sleep funky hours, but every time I woke up, Chang would be playing because of the time difference and all. I was all doped up, but was totally excited when he won that thing cuz I'd seen all his matches. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
