Measure would legalize medical pot in DE

By: Frank Gerace

A bill now in the state Senate would legalize marijuana for medical uses.
Wilmington Democrat Margaret Rose Henry says her bill, which would make marijuana available to patients with a doctor's prescription, addresses a quality-of-life issue.

Henry says marijuana would be dispensed at "compassion care centers" that would be staffed by workers who've undergone criminal background checks.

Patients would be limited to 6 ounces of marijuana a month, and would have to show ID to get it.

Woohoo! 1 step closer to legalization!

"Let me get a little of that for my Glaucoma."

6 ounces of pot a month is a LOT

We'd buy a QP back in the day and it'd last a season. And that was leaving it in the living room next to a bong and a bowl and 4 roommates.

Hey, man, we're out of papers.
All right. Then get me a toilet paper roll, a corkscrew and some tin foil.
We don't have a corkscrew.
All right. Then get me an avocado, an ice pick and my snorkel.
[Friend looks at him funny] Trust me, bro. I've made bongs with less. Hurry up!

I know someone who is a cancer patient living in Delaware who has medical marijuana to help with her chemo. She gets it from Happy Harry's using a prescription written by her oncologist.

So.... how is it not currently legal if people are using it via medical orders and pharmacy's are filling those orders?

Who knows?

In CA the state says yes but the Feds. say no, but they still legally get it.

It may also be the difference between pharmaceutical distribution and distribution through non-pharmaceutical centers.

It's all hush-hush, but it's there. Just gotta know who to ask, I guess.

I think it's pretty much understood that the current administration and current Justice Department aren't going to throw the hammer down on states making these decisions. And in 4 to 8 years, it'll be de facto legal most places if not written into federal law. And at that point, what do you do? Starting sicking the Feds on them, then?

I know she said that her Happy Harry's had a "special safe" that they kept it in. She also had to sign her life away to get it. Sad part is... I don't think it actually helped with her nausea from the chemo. Perhaps it helped in other aspects though .

I worked at Happy Harry's years ago and the pharmacy did have that "special safe" for all those special narcotic meds.. I remember seeing a pharmacy tech being walked out in cuffs because she actually took and gave out some of those "special meds" and got caught....

Simply remove pot from the list of things to test for.

It would b like alcohol. As long as you don't come to work drunk or high, you're fine. Actually better for pot. No hangover the next morning.

they should have made it legal after Prohibition.
My Grandmother was a huge Opium addict, talking back in the 60's and 70's.
Few other drugs too.
I have fond memories of her sitting in the mud making mud pies with us
