DENVER (AP) - Seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong appeared in Denver Tuesday to participate in a fundraiser for his Livestrong charity.

The group, which works to fight cancer and invest in research, is celebrating its fifth anniversary. It held events across the country on Tuesday to raise awareness about cancer.

Armstrong appeared at a fundraiser at the University of Denver at 2 p.m. before heading to Las Vegas for a similar event.

The DU event was be held at The Driscoll Lawn at the center of the University of Denver campus

--------------------------------------------------------

It makes more of an impact when a high-profile survivor does this kind of thing I think. It underscores the reality that cancer can strike even people who are physically fit and take care of themselves.

OK, I'm going to throw this out at the masses!!
I was never convinced, and am still not, that Lance had cancer.
He was a cheater in cycling, and I think he found a way to make some money and get in the spotlight.

just my 2 cents!

I admire his struggle against cancer and his overcoming the odds. He gives a lot of people a lot of hope and that's a good thing.

I'm less enamoured with how he treated his wife after he recovered.

If I won the Tour de France once, twice...seven times...

I'm pretty sure I could find a way to parlay that into some income without having to invent testicular cancer.

And if I was going to lie about having a disease, it wouldn't be a disease that affected my junk.

"Hey baby...wanna see a man with one nut? Ooooohhh, wait a sec...be right back...I also have chronic diarrhea."

A Recent study Found the average American walks about 900 miles a year.
Another study found, Americans drink on the average 22 gallons of beer a year.
That means the average American gets 41 miles to the gallon.
~
Kind of makes you proud to be an American.
