Ironically enough, I've been looking more into what I eat now that I'm married. When it was just me, I didn't bother much about what I was eating. Having someone to take care of kinda puts things into a different perspective.
I've managed to keep Chris and Joy (the MiL) from buying any more of those horrid Rice-a-Roni clones and other pre-packaged side dishes, but it's been a quiet struggle. I figured out the best way was to tell them I can make the same foods with fresher ingredients for a fraction of the cost. It's worked so far....
I'm also starting some veggie plants -mainly tomatoes and bell peppers- in containers (the loophole in the lease) to supplement what Tim (the FiL) buys from the local farmer's market. Fresh veggies are great, and even better if they're (almost) free.
I want to have a little farm...
