My oldest son was 6 months old and I took him in for his vaccinations. They were also doing flu shots that day. The nurse wound up accidentally giving my 6 month old baby an adult dose of flu vaccine! We were FREAKING out! No idea what was gonna happen, this hadn't happened before, so there was no testing or incidents to tell us what the result may be. He turned out ok, ran a little bit of a fever, but that was all. That nurse was lucky, if something had happened to him, she may not have been walking this earth anymore, I didnt have any other kids yet, wouldnt have bothered me to lose it, ya know?
Strange but, there was a really bad flu going around that year in his day care, some kids were even hospitalized for it, he didnt get it. Thank God for small miracles.

I don't do needles.. | Same here dude. I have to go for injections and it should be twice a month, but I can only go on the days when they sedate people, so I only go once a month. Still have to get an IV, but it's small, and the rest of the shots are friggin huge, and there's six of them. No friggin way I'm stayin awake for that. |

there is something cool about watching a small pointy tubular needle delicately sliding up under the skin and piercing into a vein or blood vessel.
Nurses need to be nearly artistic as they perform this craft.
I have never minded needles. I watch every time. very awesome

Plus, I have to get blood work done soon and I keep putting it off...
I'm getting cold sweats just thinking about it...

getting a needle in and out is one thing, having it STAY in
the vein for about 10 minutes.... cool!

i'm always impressed, when they take blood, how fast my blood squirts out into the vial and how it squirts in little bursts.
One time I sat there watching and thinking to myself that I hope my little blood squirt is strong enough to reach the back of the vial.
