Question Any weight lifters here?

Just curious if anyone else lifts weights around here? (Could be just for general fitness, power lifting, body building, or whatever)....

Where do you go? What equipment do they have? What's the cost (if you're willing to elaborate)??

I used to go to The Training Center. Great place. Nice equipment.

My problem is, with my work schedule sometimes, I just don't or can't go regularly. Or I get busy doing other things, like my many hobbies, or stuff for friends, or just... vegging out.

I lack motivation and dedication to hitting the gym 3x per week like I used to. Yes, I used to go regularly, for general fitness. And I loved how I felt!
Maybe I need a lifting partner to get my arse to the gym!

Re: Any weight lifters here?

Do 12 oz curls count?

Sometimes if I am energetic I will do some 24 oz curls
When I show off I do 40 oz curls.

Does that count ??

was thinking along the same line Froggy
I had tennis elbow a few months back and the Dr told me I had to figure out what was causing it. Since I do not play tennis. I had to stop using the heavy lead crystal wine glasses
I had wine elbow

Re: Any weight lifters here?

LoL froggy

on a serious note though, I lift weights on a regular basis (4-5 times a week) but right now I'm on a break because my left tricept strain wasn't completely healed when I started working out again so I'm trying to let it heal some more and I'm also soooooooo busy with work. Once I start classes in late september I plan on getting back into the swing of things. I use the gym at my college here in philly, since its a free membership because I'm a student. So I guess the cost of membership is around 30+k a year lol. But while I'm on my break I'm still keepin myself in shape by eatin right and makin sure I get plenty of physical activity on a regular basis

Re: Any weight lifters here?

I lift 2-3 times a week (for general fitness) and go on 9 mi runs 3 times a week. I lift at the YMCA near my work. They have every piece of equipment you could think of. Cost is $60 a month, YMCAs are cheaper in DE though (it's only really $2 a day if you think about it).

You have to want to get in shape. A partner will help, but deep down you have to want it. Don't get discouraged if you don't see results immediately. It will take at least 14-16 weeks of dieting and lifting/exercising to see any significant difference.

Either get up early and go right before work or go IMMEDIATELY after work. If you decide to go after work, DO NOT STOP AT HOME FIRST or else you won't leave.
