| | | So I just received my Coach 25% off coupon and have decided that I really DO NOT need another pocketbook at this time. This is a great way to save $$$ on a new Coach pocketbook. THe coupon is only good at the full price Coach store (there is one in the Christiana Mall) and is only good from December 5-December 14. I'm willing to give this up. If anyone is interested please PM me (first come, first serve).

ridiculous.. For me its an obsession. I have at least 20 of them most were purchased at full price and then came the coupons. They send me at least 4 a year and I always feel the need to go buy one. I'm working on fighting my obsession (plus i've spent way too much money the last few weeks). Looks like you and my husband have something in common--although as much as he complains he has yet to throw away or hide a coupon from me. | | The Following User Says Thank You to Spyder08 For This Useful Post:

I didnt throw it away.. :-D Quote:

<--tries to look as innocent as possible.. :-]
but heres the thing..
she has one bag she bought from Kmart (but would never admit it) and the damm thing
looks just as good as one of the insanely overpriced yuppy status symbols. imho
plus.. last time she was inNY.. she bought one (either fell off the truck or was
a really good knock off) for dirt cheap..
and YOU KNOW.. the cost on those things are maybe 1/50th of what they charge..
its a rip off..
even more than the gas companies.. :-D | Re: Coach coupon

| | | I was about to complain about how much money some of you ladies spend on bags/purses (my GF included).
But then I just remembered that I'm watching TV on a 85" HD projector and 5.1 surround sound that puts out more horsepower than my car...

| | | I'm glad I read this thread.... it's making me feel better.
you see, I don't use/carry purses ever. I will utilize a rucksack while traveling but I don't ever use a purse. I also hate jewelry, I wear my wedding rings and that's all. Oh, and flowers die so I don't much see the sense in those either.
Having said this....I now feel a wee bit better for having ordered my expensive laptop as my Xmas present which will actually be from my hubby. I guess I'm living proof that some girls are just geeky electronic freaks.
So, when the credit card bill comes in, I will remind my hubby how much I save by not carrying $500.00 Coach purses, not ever wanting flowers and my sheer dislike of all things jewelry.
Yes, I feel better!

| | | Ang has lots of coach purses, and LV and D&B and others, I think she has somewhat given up though as this one shes carrying now is more a summer purse and we are into winter and she actually said "I'm going to switch back to my black coach this week"
SWITCH BACK?!?!?! you mean you don't need a new one????

I got my coupon in the mail yesterday too and I'm itching to go get another one....but I just got one up at the outlets in upstate NY, along with an umbrella, hat and scarf set (for my son)...so I'm holding off.
Hey, it's an obsession and we own stock in it! Quote:

my friend, that is ANY article of clothing that you own. I used to work on the margins for (children's) clothing at my old company. We used to always 'aim' for at least 50% right off.
And here's a funny story (regarding knock offs). I liked them too and used to buy one every so often. My girlfriend at the children's clothing company used to design handbags with Kate Spade...worked along side of her. Well, she worked extremely hard at her designs....only to be walking in NYC and see 'her' bag laying on the ground for $15. That must've pissed her off royally. So, I don't really look into knock offs anymore because I always thought of her.

| | | The knockoffs aren't nearly the quality the real deal is either, I have seen and checkout knock off LV's from NY, they are crap compared to the real thing, real high quality bags last forever, Ang has some that are many years old and still in great shape.
I just bought a rare pair of UGG's on ebay from a quality seller, the listing got yanked, I asked them why, they said copyright infrigment, and they can still ship or refund. I told her ship is they are legit and she said she "could not guarantee authenticity", i immediately asked for and got a refund. | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to Chase For This Useful Post:

| | I buy a $10 purse at Walmart, use it til I can't use it anymore, then I go back to Walmart and buy another $10 purse. Usually happens about once a year. If the purse is blue and my outfit is pink, oh well, it's still carries all my stuff.
I wear two rings, one on my left hand and one on my right (a Mothers ring), and that's it.
I brush my hair for the first time each day, in the car on the way to work.
My idea of a 'manicure' is being able to bite my fingernails off in the same general length.
All my clothes 'match'...... to me.
If it fits, it's still in fashion.
I wear whatever shoes I find first.
I'll grab a pair of jeans, or a shirt out of the dirty clothes and wear them again if they're not physically dirty, simply because it's convenient, not for lack of clean clothes.
My dryer is my iron.
Although I do try to look nice, the extent of my daily girly stuff is mascara and shaving (I hate stubble). Other than that (or when I do take the time to do stuff, ie: dressing up and going out someplace, or dressing up and staying in ), the above is pretty much my daily thing.
That's why I get so weirded out about things like needing 50 purses,a100 pairs of shoes, and 'this years' clothes. To each her own I guess, lol.

| | | I have one....just ONE Coach purse. When I got divorced and got my settlement, I decided to treat myself and went to the Coach store and actually bought a purse and wallet full price. I don't remember exactly how much the purse cost, but I know that when I left between the purse and the wallet, I spent more than a grand. I love, love, love that purse, but I'll never do that again. I love nice purses and nice shoes. I normally spend around fifty bucks on purses or shoes, which really isn't too bad. I'm torn....I like nice things, but I also feel guilty paying so much money on such things when I could be spending that money on my kids.
As far as knock offs....Don't ask me why, I'm just weird about them. I'd rather have a real "no name brand" than a fake Coach or Kate Spade. I just feel like I'm a fake when I carry a fake. I know, I know....I'm weird.

| | | I realize some people can't justify spending that much on a purse but I like them so I buy them. I also will easily drop a few hundred on designer sunglasses. I look at it like this...both my husband and I have good paying jobs, we pay all our bills, we have savings as well as retirement plans, and we have no kids. So we splurge on ourselves a lot.
