| Re: What's your favorite steakhouse? I just took my wife, her mom, her grandmom, my daughter, and our infant to Texas Roadhouse.
We did the Call Ahead seating. It took about 15 minutes for us to get seated...on Mother's Day, no less.
I was amazed at how UNbusy it was. We did go around 3pm, though, so maybe it was a time of day thing.
My daughter got the filet mignon (8 years old and already only wants the good stuff), me and the wife got 8 oz. sirloins, her mom got the full slab of ribs, and grandma got a sirloin. I had 2 tall Bud drafts, everybody else had soft drinks or coffee.
Every single entree was AMAZING. We normally get ribeyes, but we've been picking at leftovers all day, and just didn't want to order more steak than we were going to actually eat...hence the smaller sirloins.
The check for 5 adult meals and beverages....$76.00.
I was stunned. I figured $100 for sure, maybe a little more.
I guess it adds up, but when you're looking at a table full of folks drooling over their steak dinners, you just kind of think it's going to be pricey.
Left our waitress $20. She was great.
I thought it was going to be a nightmare. I figured a 2 hour wait, the baby would be fussing non-stop...the food would be ill prepared because of the size of the crowds...
It was none of that. It was incredible. From the hostesses to the server to the kitchen to price, it was phenomenal.
I could've cut my mid-rare sirloin with a fork. And it was cooked perfectly.
What a great job. I would have paid double if someone guaranteed me at noon today that I would have the experience I ended up having at regular price.
Big Ups to the Texas Roadhouse.
We WILL be back. |
