Philly Pretzel Factory on Naamans Rd is now LIVE! I hit them up for some softies earlier in the week for my staff....my thoughts:
1) I hope they stay in business. While I was there, someone from AstraZeneca called and asked the manager for 10% discount for all employees if they flash their badge. In return, PPF gets FREE promos from AZ on their internal bulletin board. I do this for my store and the return is WELL worth the discount. Bad business decision #1 for PPF.
2) I was there at 11:45am...AND HAD TO WAIT FOR PRETZELS TO COME OUT OF THE OVEN! HELLO, TYPICAL LUNCH STARTS AT 11:30!!!
3) OK, the pretzels were AWESOME! Even after they cooled down...but make sure ya eat them the day you buy them. The left overs the next day were rock hard and worse then what you get after a Flyers game leaving the Wac...
4) They wrap hot dogs and sausage in pretzels, but they're sitting under a heat lamp, so no idea if these were the first things made in the morning, of freshly placed for storage. I'm not a fan of the heat-lamp product, especially when it comes to a pork-based product. They were using Deitz & Watson dogs and sausage, so at least its a quality product.
5) They need more products. Water Ice, Ice Cream, other sandwiches, BEER...between the lack of promotional skills and limited product line, they may not be around in three years....
I'll be going back for pretzels, but plan accordingly so that everything you buy is consumed (or frozen) on the day purchased.
