My Mood: | | | Re: Michael's --- Newark, DE For what it's worth, we went there for Mother's Day brunch and had a delicious meal and very attentive service. I've never ordered off the menu or been there for the dinner buffet, could be a completely different ballgame.
Sorry you had a bad experience! |

My Mood: | | | Re: Michael's --- Newark, DE We went there for Mother's Day brunch a few years ago and I'd never go back. The seating was horrible to get to the buffet, the waitress all but forgot about us, the food wasn't that hot and we got charged for every refill of anything we drank. The bill was hideously expensive. My mom was happy we were all together, but I was pissed at the whole experience, not a great day. Won't go back.

Of course, it wasn't on Mother's Day or Father's Day.
I try to avoid ALL restaurants on those days.
Cooks call out sick (and can you blame them...they don't make a dime extra for doing double the usual work)...waitstaff calls out even though it's a big money day because they have families, too...it's just a wreck half the time.
Though I did have a dynamite experience at Texas Roadhouse on Mother's Day. I was expecting it to be a NIGHTMARE. But it was great.
So it's certainly more than possible to get your act together.
But Michael's is on the high side, pricewise. I'd be pissed if I paid those prices and got a shitty meal and shitty service. | | The Following 3 Users Say Thank You to Kid Lester For This Useful Post: | |

My Mood: | | | Re: Michael's --- Newark, DE In my opinion, Michaels' food is just so-so, especially the buffet. The only thing I go there for anymore is happy hour on the outside patio. They've got a real nice set-up out there if you're a smoker. I think it's only open during warm weather months. !/2 price appetizers, cheap drafts. I just fill up on that, forget dinner. |

As for Red Lobster, my SO is under orders to remind me any time I bring it up that the actual meals there are nothing like what they appear to be in the commercials. The key words are, "Remember the last time we ate there and you came out ranting and raving and screaming for blood about false advertising?" |

My Mood: | | | Re: Michael's --- Newark, DE It's touch and go when we go to Michael's. Most of the time, the service is wonderful and the food (we always get the buffet) is great. But, sometimes, depending on who is working that night and cooking the food, their service just sucks in general. I would have brought the manager over and pitched a fit. |

My Mood: | | | Re: Michael's --- Newark, DE I think I'd be more upset with the set 18% gratuity, for a party of 5... Including kids in that party of 5.. Kids don't eat that much.. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
