| | Restaurant: Longhorn Steakhouse - RT 40 in Bear DE Meal: Lunch Rating: 3 out of 5 Stars
Food: 3 out of 5 Stars Service: 2 out of 5 stars
When we arrived at Longhorn we were immediately seated at a booth. (I asked for a booth). We were told who our waiter would be and shortly after he arrived with our warm bread and butter (Wheat bread). I had a coupon I received in my e-mail for their Crispy Chicken Trio $6.99 which turned out to be the highlight of the whole lunch. The Crispy Chicken Trio was boneless chicken with 3 dips.... Dijon mustard, BBQ sauce and one sauce I could not identify. The Dijon became the popular dip for us.
We ordered a bowl of SHRIMP & LOBSTER CHOWDER $4.99
The Chowder was good and filling,
I ordered the SHRIMP AND CHICKEN QUESADIA $8.69 It comes with rice but I subbed a baked sweet potato at no additional charge. I didn't like the Quesadia. It was too bland for me and if it had cheese in it, I didn't taste any. I asked my friend to try it and they said it was OK. I asked them if we came back would they consider ordering it and they said they would. I won't... I decided if I am going to order a Quesadia, it will be from a Mexican restaurant.
My friend ordered the MUSHROOM AND SWISS BURGER $8.29 I They said it was OK. Better than Charcoal Pit I asked? No they said.. Better than Lone Star I asked? No they said. Better Than Applebee's I asked? No they said and then they said it was not that good.
Our drinks.... I had SWEET TEA $2.29 - They had RASPBERRY TEA $2.99
Overall, if it was not for the chowder and appetizer I would have been very disappointed. My friend did take home half the burger they ate. I didn't want a dogie bag at all.....
Service started out good but once our plates were down you could find therm reading at the bar. When they laid our check we had to signal him to come and run the card.... Our Crispy Chicken Trio - $6.99 (Free with coupon) My Shrimp & Crab Chowder $4.99 My Shrimp & Chicken Quesadia with baked sweet potato $8.69 Mushroom & Swiss Burger $8.29 This is what I did not eat from my lunch.......
I think this is where this post truly belongs. I originally posted it in the whats for lunch thread. In the future I will keep my reviews here and just do a short lunch post in the other with a link to a review in this area, if there is a review.... | | The Following 5 Users Say Thank You to paulusa302 For This Useful Post: | | Re: Longhorn Steakhouse - RT 40

But to be honest I would rather eat at Texas Roadhouse. | Re: Longhorn Steakhouse - RT 40

| | | We always get take out, we always consider this place but the prices are not on-line. So we alwyas end up skipping this place and getting Raodhouse. We get take out because of service issues, and we can enjoy our meal at home while we watch a movie or something. Thanks for the review, just still not sure if they would be considered above Roadhouse still.

| | | They recently put in a Longhorn near us... I have been hesitant to go there. I think I will stick to what I like (Crazy Horse Saloon on the Maryland border, near Hagerstown - they have alligator tail!).

| | | I've got to say... I've only been to the one in Bear once and I was totally unimpressed. Food was late, overcooked and not very appetizing.
On the other hand, I go to the one in Williamsburg, VA every chance I get. The have a 7-Pepper Sirloin Salad that is very, very good. | Re: Longhorn Steakhouse - RT 40
