Re: Harry's Savoy Grill

Our favorite restaurant in N. Delaware is Harry's Seafood Grill. I'm sorry you had some bad experiences there, Raptor. We love that place... the "Lobsters In the Nude" are incredible and the fish specials are amazing. They have a mashed potato lobster dish that I crave. Even my kids love eating there.... not too "fishy" for them.

I haven't been to Harry's Savoy since it was the Admiral's Inn. We'll have to try that next time we go out for a nice meal.

Thanks for the review Raptor! Always looking for good eats.

FYI.... link to both restaurants with prices, specials and hours:

Re: Harry's Savoy Grill

Any one know of a not so expensive place or bar to eat oysters in Sussex County or near Milford?

Re: Harry's Savoy Grill

LOL... I used to go to the boat show in Annapolis every spring. One of the bars there would have oyster shooters, which consisted of oysters on a half shell, tabasco, old bay, horse radish, and a shot of beer..... Well I was driving, and ordered like 4 plates of these thing, because I LOVE oysters, I was doing the halfers, and my buddy was doing the shots of beer....Now 48 shots of beer later he was stumbling out of the bar, and I was walking out with a full stomach of oysters, and wanting to go back for more!!!!!

A Recent study Found the average American walks about 900 miles a year.
Another study found, Americans drink on the average 22 gallons of beer a year.
That means the average American gets 41 miles to the gallon.

Kind of makes you proud to be an American.

Re: Harry's Savoy Grill

I use to eat there all the time and loved it, we have had many company functions there. Hope and I took her Grandmother there a few months ago. I had the nude lobster and thought it was quite good. Our waitress was awful. I had to have her "found" more than once. I told her I really thought she had left she was missing for 20 minutes after the meal was served. Never came back to see if we needed anything else. She said sorry I have other tables. I told her if you would have come back you would have sold many more drinks. She looked at me like I had 4 heads. Anyway, I am a HUGE tipper when it is warranted and I told her that. Needless to say instead of a 40% tip she got 15%.

Re: Harry's Savoy Grill

I HATED Walters. The steak was nothing special at all. The place used to be good but they have rested on their laurals. Now it's just a bunch of old guys standing around thinking that they are the only real steakhouse in Wilmington.
Wake up pops!

I went to Harry's Savoy last week for my birthday. i got the NY Strip. Very good. My girlfriend tried a piece even thouh NY isn't her cut, Fillet is (but she always tries a bit) and she was VERY suprised. She thought that was the most tender NY she has ever had.
The only downside was when we made reservations we did not ask to sit in the bar area but that's where they put us and they had some really out of place music playing too loudly. It was like 90's rock. It just didn't fit the situation.

Re: Harry's Savoy Grill

But if we are talking about Steakhouses, I went to Barclay Prime in Philly 3 years ago for my birthday and it was BY FAR the best steakouse I have even been to, and I do mean that.

http://www.barclayprime.com/

MY GOD was the steak good! But I'm not going to BS you. It wasn't cheap, far from it.
I wasn't a fan of the 'new age' look of the furniture but who gives a crap, the steak was damn good.
