Yes it's a chain, but very good. You almost always need a reservation.

Lettuce wraps are superb!

Wow! I've ordered from the place twice and I won't give it a 3rd strike. They've been there a while, so they must do something right at some time...their General Tso's chicken was dry both times - maybe one of the kids was kooking...I don't understand how that can be?!?!

I'm gonna take this one over to the left coast...Oriental Pearl, 760/778 Clay Street, San Francisco, CA 94108...the house special fried rice is to die for.

Around Brandywine Hundred, to eat in...it's either China Royal or Hunan on/near Branmar...neither one is cheap. For take out, New Hong Kong in the Carpenter Rd Shopping Center.

Anyone ever try that place in Claymont next to Arby's (in the shopping center)?

Re: Favorite Chinese Restaurant

The old Chinese place in University Plaza was pretty good...was there for years and years, but they just recently closed it... I'm not a HUGE Chinese fan, but they did have very good sweet and sour chicken, and sesame chicken.

Re: Favorite Chinese Restaurant

Our favorite is P.F.Chang's as well. Problem? Too far and always a wait. So, we tried Potstickers over by the Christiana Hospital. It was excellent...very similar to PFC, but closer and no wait. Can't wait to go back.

Exclamation Re: Favorite Chinese Restaurant

I might eat in such a place if it happened that I was there on opening day, after that it's off my list. I've been in far too many of their establishments and seen what the general public does not to give any of them a pass on what I know to be poor sanitation practices at best ...

Re: Favorite Chinese Restaurant

There are 2 take out places that we frequent, one is in Smyrna, China Star and the other is in Dover, Happy Fortune. Happy Fortune is right down the street from work so I go there mostly, but we go there so much they know our names and what my husband gets, at both places!

Re: Favorite Chinese Restaurant

The Golden Rooster in Middletown is great. Best Chinese food I've had. It's not Cisco-off-the-back-of-the-truck slop like most Chinese food places. Even their egg rolls are home-made. I mean, it's still american-style Chinese food, it's not 4 star eating, but as far as american-style Chinese food goes, I've never had better.

My dad and I went down to meet my mom for dinner there while he was here.
