Personally I LOVE Border Cafe. I'm sorry you had a bad experience but I have to agree with Chase. I could see that as being an "oops" on the waitress's part but I would have just pulled out the id and been done with it. (And to be honest I would probably give a kiss on the lips to ANYONE who would ask ME for ID!)

I love Border Cafe.. My wife and I go there as often as we can.. We've never had a bad experience and I doubt we ever will. We go through at least 2 baskets of their chips and salsa.. Good stuff.. I order the Chicken Guadalaaaaa, however it's spelled.. I love that dish.. I bury it in the hot sause and devour it..... We never walk out of there unsatisfied..
Bugaboo on the other hand.. I'll never go there again. My wife and I went there one time, ordered oour dinner - Got our salads. I had just finished mine and my wife was pretty much almost done with hers when she noticed a dead fly in her salad.. I waved down the waitress, she came over - Looked at the dead fly and said.. "Haha.. Wow, how did he get in there.....".. Not a damn thing done for us.... Plus, the last couple of times we were there, we had horrible service and food... I USED to love that place, but not anymore....

I'm having a hard time understanding how being asked for you ID, even after your alcohol has arrived, could ruin a meal to the point that it would be proper to compensate the check.

We went there once and it was the last time.
Our waitress was awful, the food was cold when it was served, their choice of Wine and or Scotch was low shelf. It was just a bad experience. |
