Ali Baba Restaurant

This past summer I went to Ali Baba's for lunch. The place is located on the left side of Newark Main Street. Once inside you have a choice of seating. We chose the cumfy couch seating.

Service was OK and our order for drinks were taken once we were seated.
Our drinks came to us in the form of a can and glass of ice. I didn't mind that at all so I opened my can of coke and poured it into my glass.

Although their online menu does not show it, they offer a meal "set" that we both ordered. As I remember the set included an appetizer and we both tried the HOMMUS for the first time in our lives. It comes with sliced pita bread. It was OK and I would try it again but it was nothing special.

We both had the LAMB GYRO. Mine came Middle Eastern Style and they ordered theirs Greek Style. I wish I had gotten mine in Greek style but I wanted to try something new. I liked mine but I am sure the Greek style was better.

We were not able to eat all of our GYRO's so we had them wrapped to go.

We had an order of BAKLAVA for desert. You can't beat it for $1 a serving and it was GOOD!

Our lunch was under $10 each and if anyone were to suggest returning for lunch or dinner, I would be all for it.
