Air Transport Command is back and OMG good!! We always thought it was good before it closed, but now- WOW. We were excited to see it reopen after so long and we finally had a free Saturday. We had dinner there last night and I could have cried. I am a huge fan of filet mignon, I am such a carnivore. I had it last night and words can not express. It scared me a little when they brought out a steak knife, but when the steak was served the knife became needless debris on the table. The steak was so tender I could actually cut it with my fork. I am so not lying, it was wonderful, actually beyond wonderful. I am a grazer, a little now a little later I have never had a steak so good not only did I eat all of it but I was sorry when it was gone. It was steak with a red wine sauce with potato (I had baked) and vegetables. The vegetables were steamed and seasoned very nicely. They serve a multi grain bread with the meal. The husband had the chicken Ceasar salad which was quite good as well. The service was great. The steak was about $25 and salad is not included. Salad included would have been bonus but you can't have everything. The atmosphere is always great there, very romantic with the airport right outside and all. It was a grand affair.
We really might want to consider a group dinner there- yuuuuummmmmmm!
I could talk to them if anyone thinks it sounds life fun. The husband and I will be the first to sign up.

that sounds great....I have always liked ATC. Do you know if they have a DJ like they used to on Saturday nights? (I googled, but it doesn't appear they have a website yet)

ATC is open again? Thanks for the heads up. I may have to get a drink one night from there.

Not sure about the DJ on Saturdays, we were there at opening time, but Guido the magician is there Thursday nights. They are currently open 5pm to 10pm Tuesday through Saturday.

If I may bore you all to death with a short story....

back in the day (we don't need to give actual dates), I worked at ATC for a semester. I always thought the concept was weird.... war-themed, airport themed, whatever. But they had decent food and it certainly was a popular place.

Anyway, one night, the general manager and another business "executive" sit down in my station to have dinner. I could see they were talking business, had papers spread out on the table, etc. So as not to be a distraction to these "important" businessmen, I didn't go into the whole spiel I usually did like with regular customers. I didn't feel the need to describe in detail each artery-clogging topping we had available for their baked potato.

So at the end of the meal, the general manager meets with me and goes over a list of things I did "wrong" while serving them. (you think I have a bit of a temper today, back then the beast had no leash). I suppressed my anger somehow and let that f*cking douchebag do his little critique.

I quit the next day. F*ck that a-hole. So today, I'm a successful all-around great person.... and that prick is still scraping food off of dirty plates somewhere....(at least that's what I tell myself)

Sorry to hijack the thread. I hope the new and improved ATC does well.
