I just wanted to tell people an alternitave that some parents have been using for autistic children who tend to get out and run away from time to time. I know its not the right fit for every family

Works like a charm. | Unless the kid happens to be autistic.. then they not only don't understand why you're hitting them (and therefore miss the connection between the misdeed and the correction), but they are also often extremely pain tolerant. The amount of pain you'd have to inflict to make any kind of lasting impression would be child abuse.
