My Mood: | | | Piercings My son has been absolutely bugging me to death to let him get his lip pierced. I've already let him do the ear-gauge thing, I'm not sure if I want him to do the lip thing though. He has a fake one that he's been wearing and it doesnt look bad, I'm worried about things like infections, future jobs, what people think when they see a kid like that, etc.
What's everyone else's opinion on this? |

My Mood: | | | Re: Piercings My son had all the piercings and at 17 he got a job as a printer and by the time he was 18 was the second highest printer at the paper. He eventually grew tired of the piercings and took them out. He will soon be 24 and still has the same job. Never misses a day of work because he loves his job so much. Quote:

I can see him at 50 using his earlobes to hold his beers...

My Mood: | | | Re: Piercings Totally against piercings and excessive tattoos. And when I was in the corporate world and doing hiring YES they were a very negative influence on the hiring decision. And yes I know it's a generalization, unfair judgements and all but if you are wanting to look like a carnival sideshow perhaps you should apply there. Corporate wide thinking was the same I wasn't the only narrow minded one. First impressions are powerful and very hard to overcome (IF you get the chance to try to overcome them) and the reflection is that you are rebellious and don't really care about much but yourself and are trying to tell the world to look at you. Not exactly "team player" material.
