I'm not supporting their pool habits but given the situation, a handful of children being closely supervised in their own back yard while taking a dip in the pool to cool off on a hot day, that sounds pretty American to me ...
As an aside, I'm all for Borders, Language and Culture (get the connection?) but this hardly seems like an assault on anything American.

think about this... with the ever present numbers of sex offenders, mind you is appox 160 in Dover alone, majority of them being child mollesters, wouldnt that be a child mollesters #1 spot to get his jollies off? |

I think we all got your point Lewin. However....I don't think that justifies someone calling the police. To be frank, I think that unless you really saw a child molester you and your wife should have minded your own business.

Has there really been any increase in child molesters, or just a decrease in the taboo of talking about it, and reporting incidents to authorities?

unfortunatley in these days and times parents have to be ever so cautious with their children.
what seemed innocent or harmless 30 years ago is no longer the case, way too many sick individuals out there lurking around.
It may very well be the custom to swim in that manner in Pakistan or whereevr, but this is america and we don't punish our sex offenders the way they do in other countries, this may explain why there is no sense of worry in the Pakistani mindset, the children are probably much safer over there.
Having said that, I hope the police or a kneighbor explained the dangers of such a practice and that they understood. |

My daughter will be 3 in August.. I'd be very selective on when and where she is allowed to run around naked.. Now, if a neighbor called the cops on me because I chose to allow her to do so in my own backyard.. I'd be a little ticked, to say the least.. I keep an eye on her like a hawk..
Granted.. I wouldn't let her run around stark naked.. I'd definitely keep her bottom on...

these peoples "backyard" is in the wide open being they have a corner lot.
one of my biggest concern is i dont need my daughter seening this and thinking its right for her to do the same. |
