Kids Singin' Songs

My kid can't talk very well, but man he'll bust out a tune. And it's the funniest ish EVER.

Right now he's playing with some stuff and warbling, "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOB DA BUILDER.. CAN HE FIXED IT?!"

He also likes to sing Murder By Death's song Ball & Chain, and So Many Dynamos' song We Panic In A Pew, which he will actually sing the guitar riffs to as well as the words.

It's TOO FF to hear this 3-year-old walking around going, "delelalalalalalalalalalalala BAM."

Once a red light driving somewhere, there was a lull in our conversation and we hear Aidyn in the back seat sing, "Ooooooh bay-bay.." We cracked up. The people in the car next to us shot us dirty looks, for some reason thinking we were laughing at them, but we still couldn't compose ourselves.

Re: Kids Singin' Songs

I don't remember my oldest singing much, unless it was a sing a long show like Barney

"There are 7 days, there are 7 days, there are 7 days...in a week..."

And those god awful Wiggles. Oh man...not looking forward to those guys again.

Does bring up a memory though.

In my prior marriage, I spent a lot of time in the finished basement. There wasn't an end table next to the couch, so I used to leave my beer on the floor beside me. My oldest was about 2, crawl-walking around. She'd try to pick my beer up all the time. I'd say, "You don't want this. Ewww...Beer. Beer yucky. Yucky, yucky beer."

One time she got it when I was using the basement bathroom real quick and her mom wasn't paying close enough attention on the phone. I come out, she sees me...she's got my can of beer in both hands.

I guess I startled her, and she drops it...spills all over the carpet.

Her face frowns up in abject disappointment, and she cries, "MY YUCKY BEER!"

Ahhhhh kids

Re: Kids Singin' Songs

My son sings "After Dark" by Asian Kung-fu Generation. It's in Japanese, but funny as hell to hear from a four year old. He had me reading up on the lyrics, and we argue on what they are really saying.

Yes Py. It's a Bleach song. ^_^

Re: Kids Singin' Songs

My daughter started singing "Epiphany" from the Sweeney Todd soundtrack for my sister today at her hair salon. Complete with:

There's a hole in the world like a great black pit
And it's filled with people who are filled with shit
And the vermin of the world inhabit it.
But not for long...

Good thing my sister didn't have any other customers

Re: Kids Singin' Songs

I babysat one summer when TLC's "Waterfalls" and Better than Ezra's "Good" were both really big hits.

The kid I babysat for, who just graduated from high school last month, had interesting versions of both songs.

Waterfalls turned into "Go, go, Jason's waterballlllll" and Good turned into "It was good, 'cause all she ate was NACHOS!"

Re: Kids Singin' Songs

My kids loved wiggles, Barney, Doodle Bops, etc...

They begged me to learn their songs for the guitar and I did because I am a great father and love to make them happy.

The it was like everyday, they would beg me to play the same damn songs over and over and over.

I finally told them that I need to stop playing these songs before I start changing the lyrics to something like "I love you, you love me, but I'm gonna shove this guitar up my hinie!"
