and let me add to this...
we watched the specials on all on the Duggars (me and Ang) and do they seem kinda crazy or fake, yes, but i think they are all really happy, and it is extraordinary to me they have so much discipline. The parents don't just sit around and make the kids do everything, they do their fair share and seem like great parent IMO. They take their kids on trips and outings and teach them a lot.

And I definitely don't think that they are 'evil' people (now if they start having the females dress up in 1800's attire and have their girls get married at 9yo., we're going to have issues).
As DEMOA said, there are people out there in this world doing FAR worse things. For example. What is WRONG with some people...?
I was looking at the big picture. Clearly everyone (or even 10% of the population) can't follow this practice. It would have global implications.
