Every time I hear anything about this family I think of how long she's been pregnant over the course of her life. 12 years is just insane to me. My 3 kids are close in age 20 months then 12 months, and I know how hard that was on my own body. I lost fillings and had my pelvic separate. Not to mention my teeth are now really sensitive because I threw up for a total of 23 months in all. And I mean I puked every day all day long. I can't imagine how beat up her body has to be. I'm sure incontinence is a permanent part of her life at this point. It just blows my mind. And I also have to add that I don't see how any of those kids can have any kind of one on one interaction with their parents every day. It's hard enough for me with 3. To me it puts too much of the parents responsibilities on the older kids. I'm sure I'll piss some people off with this comment, but IMO it's just selfish and irresponsible to have that many kids in this day and age. I'm sure some will disagree, but that's how I feel.

Yes, selfish is the word that came to my mind also, among other things...

At first it probably seemed like they were going to do ok. I mean it looks like most of the kids were conceived and born during the big real estate boom. Now that they no longer do the real estate thing full time and she stays home and he works as a car salesman, USED car salesman, I wonder how they're going to feed all those kids and pay their bills?

More than likely, there's quite an income from the documentaries they do. I'd also be willing to bet there's a little public assistance in there somewhere...

Have you guys ever seen one of their TV specials?

I have watched a lot of them... and let me tell you these people march to the beat of their own drummer. They actually attempted to build a humongus house by themselves, but ended up having to hire a contractor because it took them too long and they were about to lose their other home. On every special you see the kids doing basically everything so you wonder what does the mother do besides pop them out and nurse them.

It was on TLC last night again. I could only watch for a few minutes and then I couldn't take it anymore.

Chase and I watch them and laugh hysterically. It's almost like they have 17 little slaves. Every older child is responsible for a younger child and their fair share of household chores while the parents sit back and make more babies.

Ok I said I was gonna keep my mouth shut, but I lied...to have that many children in this day and age is flat out selfish. Every child born in this world deserves to feel special and I seriously doubt that any of those children feel anything more than tired. It's disgusting.
