Mayor Baker is reportedly "elated" with a Chancery Court ruling ordering the Christina School District to keep four Wilmington schools open.
The story from WDEL's Frank Gerace.
Baker's office Thursday issued a statement applauding the decision ordering Christina not to close Palmer, Stubbs, Pulaski and Douglass schools, and to file a neighborhood school plan in line with the requirements of the state's Neighborhood Schools Act.
The Act requires school districts to assign students to schools closest to where the students live, based only on distance and neighborhood boundaries.
The city and five parents of children in the affected schools filed a challenge in Chancery Court May 11th, claiming Christina had violated the Neighborhood Schools Act and naming District Superintendent Lillian Lowery and school board members as defendants.

Will this save Darley Road from closing?
I dont have any legal knowledge or anything, but I wouldn't think one case would affect the other. In Christina they wanted to basically get out of dodge. They wanted all city schools gone and to be done with it.
In BSD's case isn't it more a money issue and that they have more classrooms than they need?
