Where to take scrap metal?

I have scrap aluminum (flashing around windows, window frames, etc...) and scrap copper that I am looking to try to get soome cash for.

Does anyone have any personal recommendations for places that they use for turning scrap metal to cash in Northern Delaware?

There's a place by the 12th street landfill in Wilmington.. We take our scrap there..

I think it's Diamond State Recycling...

Re: Where to take scrap metal?

did you get a decent amount of cash for it?

What I mean is was it worth taking it or would it be better use of my time and gas to just put it out on the curb and let the trash pickers have at it?

We usually bring hundreds of pounds of scraps (copper, brass, cast iron, etc..) and we usually get a lot back.. But look at it this way.. Whatever you get back is more than you had to begin with... You get nothing for regular trash..

That place is closed. That's where we originally were going to take the metal from the pool. So we found the place on Albe Drive instead.

Do you mean the one on Market Street, going into Wilmington on Rt. 13 or the one closest to Gander Hill??

The one closest to Gander Hill is the one I'm talking about and last I checked it was still open...

Re: Where to take scrap metal?

yeah the place at the mouth of wilmo on 13 across from id griffith is GONE.

took mine to newark recycling on albe drive off old balt pike

GL they gave my $7 per 100lbs and they called it "light iron"

it was a steel pool, so dirty steel with the paint and plastic coating and stuff

i would call them and ask what the rates are

i have like 490 lbs of metal and 1 car radiator. i got like $35 bux, radiator was only worth $1.80
