Good news!!! BIL works at the Milltown store which is very close to the one that is closing. So he's safe for now.

Bag boys only know how to bag stuff. When you promote bag boys to senior level management positions, you're destined to fail. Let 'em fail...a 40 year old laid off auto worker will open a boutique in a portion of the old Talbots location @ Powder Mill Square and earn enough in 12 years to retire at 52.

If you accept working for "someone else", you've got no bitch to blame when that someone else goes belly up an you're on the unemployment dime. My2Cents.

Yeah, but he's right. Look at all the mis-managed companies. Look at all the people who are left scratching their heads bc owners and upper management screw everything up and wait for the government to help them out with their bad decisions. (chapter 11/13)

Look at Leisure Fitness for one.

Of course, we can't all own our own biz but you can't be too shocked when doors close for good as their owners drive off in their Lexus LX570's to their multi-million $ homes. It's scary out there.

Update on Home Depot: I heard from a very reliable source that no Home Depots will be closing in Delaware anytime soon. So go ahead shop and buy those gift cards without worry!

I've got to disagree. Employees have no access to the books or what's going on behind closed doors. It's easy for a business owner to put on a front as though the business is doing well then all of a sudden close and the employees are left like . I can't blame them for their situation.

No... employees can't be expected to help manage the funds and make the decisions. I'm just saying that in an economy that is doing so badly, you can't be shocked at store closings. I'm also saying that it's always the little guy, that hard worker making just above minimum wage, that loses the most. The owners and upper management don't feel the pain...as they drive off in their Lexus' to their huge houses while the government helps them out of their "debts". It's too easy to shut doors and walk away and leave your employees out in the cold. It's way too easy.

Have you ever seen the house of Arthur Blank, the billionaire who started Home Depot? And I doubt the owner of Leisure Fitness is standing in line for her unemployment cheques.

I see your point. It pisses me off that no one is being investigated or in jail with regards to the first bail-out. That bail-out was ok'ed way to fast and from what I can see, it didn't do squat for the economy OR the little guy.
