Summer Olympics

With the Summer Olympics in Bejing approaching is there one event or events that you look forward to watching?

Personally, for me it is any of the swimming or diving events that I enjoy watching.

I'm not much for the track and field or biking events.

Re: Summer Olympics

I LOVE the gymnastics and "rhythmic dancing" competitions. LOVE THEM.

lol..... maybe in the bizarro world.

All due respect to any rhythmic dancers in TD land, but giving out medals for twirling a ribbon?? PAH-LEASE.

I like the track and field, mostly the sprinting. And the swimming is pretty good. Soccer - take or leave it.

However, I doubt I'll watch any of it. Olympics don't do it for me anymore.

side note: anyone watch "Murderball" documentary on Demand? It's about the Para-Olympics, wheelchair rugby. It's crazy. Definitely worth watching.

Re: Summer Olympics

I am an Olympics freak. I look forward to watching the games for months, and have been known to cry over dramatic finishes. Or even the opening ceremonies. There's something about the Olympics that, for me, symbolizes the hope of international harmony.

I'm really looking forward to the water sports- in particular diving, as well as baseball and softball, since 2008 will be their last year in the Games.

Anyone know where I can get a detailed broadcast schedule?

Re: Summer Olympics

There will be a huge protest during the Olympics against the Communist Gov't.

That's alright.

The last one ended pretty peacefully.

Re: Summer Olympics

I like it all, but I wonder how much we'll really be able to see. I am a bit worried about violence.

I found this on the web: Olympic Schedule. It says you can download the competitions by sessions. Other than that I don't know where to pick up a schedule.
I hope this works for you.

I myself like watching Gymnastics. Been watching it since Mary Lou Retton won her gold medals in the '84 olympics.

Re: Summer Olympics

I am not a fan of China and it's treatment of Tibet, but I will be watching the games here and there.

Although not an Olympics freak, I do enjoy the break of the same old sh*t on tv.

It's also nice to witness at least something that most of the world can stand together on.

Re: Summer Olympics

I prefer the Winter Olympics, personally.

But, if there's a baseball game or volleyball game on, I'm sure I'll watch it.

Or soccer.

But, only two years until I get to watch Olympic ice hockey. Hooray!
