Not arguing either lewin, just stating how I feel about hunting.
I understand why people do it, just don't like it.
Can you be more specific about non-meat products, maybe run us through your average week of food consumption ?

As for me, I'm not really big on meats just because I'm not, I eat whatever I feel like eating but, I'm not throwing around the "heartless" label either ...

You really think hunting is cruel? Leaving an animal in it's natural habitat to breed and live free until it happens to be the one chosen by a hunter to feed his family i.m.h.o. is not cruel. Raising calves for veal is cruel, the methods used for slaughtering are cruel, the conditions that domesticated food animals are kept in are cruel, pulling a fish out of the water after allowing it to fight aimlessly is cruel. A quick shot by a hunter with good aim is probably the least cruel of any method of obtaining meat that I know of.
And yes, I think they are beautiful creatures as well. That doesn't mean that in the grand scheme of things, and may I be cheesy, the circle of life, they were never meant to be food.

And I'll ask my dad if he can save some venison for you Py, if he gets one this year that is.

Seriously you want to know what I eat every week??
Food.....just not meat products.
I did not say anyone who eats meat is heartless, I said in my opinion hunting is heartless. If you don't agree that is fine I am sure I wouldn't agree with every subject that you give an opinion on as well.
Have a nice evening!

I understand what you're saying Tree....I could never pull the trigger either. I just think it's more complicated than that.

Re: September 1st...

Oh hell, if you ask me where my meat comes from I firmly believe that my food was raised in the refrigerated section of the grocery store, grown from beef and chicken seeds planted on small styrofoam plates that grow and eventually, when fully developed, are covered in a thin plastic layer, similar to the husk on corn in that it must be removed prior to cooking.

That's the story my mommy told me and I'm sticking with it!!!

Re: September 1st...

As far as I'm aware, I've never eaten veal and have no plans on doing it. As a matter of fact, everyone I know knows that if they choose to eat veal in my presence, it will not be a pleasant meal. The whole practice is disgusting!

Exclamation Re: September 1st...

Veal Parmesan is good because the meat is hidden under the chesse, but other than that I wouldn't want it ...

*Is reading a menu considered hunting ?
