Re: September 1st...

Thanks Spyder08!
I jut don't understand how someone could look at such a beautiful animal like a deer and be so heartless as to kill it?? But hey that's just me.
When I look at all of God's creatures I am reminded of all of the blessing that we have on Mother Earth.

NOT TRYING TO ARGUE HERE.... ( this is MY 2 cents worth )

I'll stop killing them when the world starts controling its population and building new homes and shopping centers where the deer and other animals live. people always complain when they hit a deer "theres too many deer in this area" but soon as they are hunted to help control the population is a motral sin.

check this out:
There are more than 1.5 million crashes involving deer each year which cause over one billion in damage, 150 of the deer collisions are fatal, and there are more than 10,000 people injured

Not arguing either lewin, just stating how I feel about hunting.
I understand why people do it, just don't like it.

Re: September 1st...

ok why i hunt:

relaxing-- while im in the woods i get to be one with nature and take in all its glory. if you ever just sit in one spot for hours just listening to the sounds of the trees and animals about its very relaxing.

Health -- being out there breathing in the oxygen that comes out of the green plants. walking out to my hunting locations also improves my overall health keeping me from becoming a fat arse.

food -- there is a different satisfaction to me knowing that I personally killed this animal to provide for my family. yeah i can go to grocery store and get meat but its different feeling knowing it was done by my own hands

population control -- pretty obvious in my other post helping balance man vs beast

Re: September 1st...

Here's my two cents.....

Our bodies were designed to eat meat and veggies. For us to get the vitamins and minerals we need to survive without eating meat (ie protein), we need to go out of our way to eat soy and such. For those of you that do that.....BRAVO! Honestly, someday I will probably do that, because I find that a very moral way of living.

That being said, if we all lived that way and no one ate meat there would be animals EVERYWHERE and we would have a serious issue. There's a reason why there's an ecosystem. Hunters are doing a job. A job that I personally could never do in a million, trillion years. A job that I would think that we would have evolved past at this point, but we haven't.

I'm hoping that we can look into some other form of birth control for deer. Until then, this is a necessary evil.

Re: September 1st...

If I knew how to hunt I just might, I can imagine it to be very relaxing and much healthier than the meat you would buy in a store.

Re: September 1st...

I just made a choice awhile ago to not eat meat, but just like eveyone is entitled to their own opinion it is everyone right to eat whatever they want. I do not put anyone down for eating meat, that is their freedom to eat whatever they want.
As for the hunting in my opinion it is just cruel, even though I understand the whole eco-system thing I could no more look an animal in the eyes and murder it than I could a humane being. As for the protein issue there are many other foods that have vitamins, minerals and proteins that are non meat products.
