Ok so the Phils successfully swept the worst team in baseball to regain 1st place... woo hoo! Hope they can keep it alive in St. Louis this weekend!!!

I know it's just the Nats, but sweeping them was AWESOME.

Doesn't matter that they're 15 games or whatever back. They always seem to kick us where it counts every year. Nice to get a sweep in that swamp.

No deals at the deadline. Maybe they'll find something on the waiver wire that pans out. That's how we got Moyer, don't forget....after the deadline.

I just got tickets to the Aug 5th Phillies game vs Marlins. Good thing my nails have grown a little....... should be a close series.

Zimmerman, after looking like he was going to cry his eyes out last night, said he is actually okay today...no broken bones. LOL. I was sure he broke his hand but it's just a contusion.

From what I've seen on a few semi-professional blogs, word around the campfire is that Cole is something of a dick in the clubhouse. He knows he's going to make bank this offseason in his first arbitration eligible year. He's going to cash in another year or more while under his rookie contract with the Phils, and then he fully plans on taking his services to a West Coast team where he supposedly has family.

I don't know if the part about him wanting out of Philly is true. But if it is, it would explain a lot of things...like why we never seem to hit behind him.

Anyway, it's about that time of day. Beer, bourbon and baseball.
