Sweet mother of mercy....

Well...exactly what we didn't want to happen.....happened.

Brewers and Mets both WIN last night...in last inning fashion.

One game lead for the Phils over both teams with 3 to play.

Which means we pretty much HAVE TO take 2 of 3 from the pesky Nats.

Add that to the shitty weather we're supposed to be dealing with...and this is going to get absolutely NUTS.

Strap yourself in, Phils fans. Here we go again.

I am on the edge of my seat on this one. If they play I will be glued to my TV all weekend. M has a b-day party to go to @ 1:00 on Sunday, I can't believe someone would have a 6 year old's b-day party during the last Phillies game of the season... what's wrong with people, LOL

Phils win, Mets lose.

We are 2 games up with 2 to play.

Magic number: 1

All we need is a Mets loss or a Phils win over the next 2 games and we are National League East Champs for the 2nd year in a row.

Moyer can clinch it for us tomorrow at 4 (game time moved to accomodate Fox Sports coverage).

I cannot wait. Hopefully the weather and the baseball gods cooperate.

I'm throwing a surprise anniversary party for my folks tomorrow afternoon.

This is exciting.... I'm sad to see the regular season coming to an end. Playoff baseball (any playoff sport for that matter) is so nerve racking. I already miss the lazy days of summer baseball with the voice of Harry Kalas calling the action.

April is always so awesome. Beginning of spring and, no matter how bad your team might be, the entire season still lies ahead. There's definitely a reason to be melancholy near the end of that.

But hell...it's been a long time since we've even had real baseball in SEPTEMBER. Our season has usually ended, realistically, in August. We've milked 2 consecutive Septembers out of this club. Shit, I'll take it.

And October, too.

Okay, Phils fans. Here's the question.

Mets play Florida at 1 today.

Phils play at 4.

If the Mets lose, the Phils clinch before they even take the field today.

Now, I'm sure that we'd all prefer to WATCH the Phils win the division.

But can you really hope that the Mets win?

They've got Santana going, so they have a pretty good shot at winning, anyway. But, not knowing if the Phils are going to win tonight, would you prefer a Mets loss today or not?

I guess I have to say I hope the Mets lose. Even if it does make today's game meaningless. If they win and we lose, then it all comes down to tomorrow. And if the same thing happens, we might miss the playoffs ENTIRELY. Certainly can't root for that.

Always interesting.
