Craftsman, the sponsor synonymous with the NASCAR Truck Series since its inception in 1995, will be out as the title sponsor of the series at the end of the upcoming 2008 season.
Officials aren't certain who will take Craftsman's place as title sponsor of the series, but don't seem too worried about it. They said Tuesday that they expect to begin negotiations with several viable candidates soon. MORE |

First, no more Nextel. It is now the Sprint Cup! No more Busch series, it is now the Nationwide series.
Second, the Car of Tomorrow is now upon us. No more switching cars from the COT to COY and back again.
That being said, Tony Stewart will test at Daytona for the first time in years. Why? I am sure it has to do with the COT and Gibbs racing switching to Toyota this year.
Toyota was not much to talk about on the track but I expect to see a big improvement this year for the manufacturer.
What will Hendrick do this year? Three superstars on the track in Jeff Gordan, Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Will they (Hendrick) be able to have the same dominating success that they had last season?
A lot of stories, a lot of changes, a lot of new faces. I can't wait for the season to begin! |

Didn't find one for either Earnhardt but here's a few Scalectrix cars for the rest of you...

Are people still shell shocked that Jeff & Jr now work for the same boss and are on the same team??? lol Yea that's going to take some getting used to.

| | Resident SuperHero! | | | | | Re: Nascar 2008 NASCAR adding pit stop rules NASCAR will initiate two new pit stop rules for the 2008 racing season. Tire changers will no longer be allowed to roll tires from the stock car to the pit wall. "We saw the tire changers whipping the tire toward the wall and on days when their aim is correct, it looks pretty good," Sprint Cup Series director John Darby said. "On days when there's an air hose in the way or a competing team coming across the wall, it's not a good situation. Somebody is going to have to hand roll or carry the tire back to the inside of the pit box." The other new rule limits how far pit crews can push a car down the service alley. -- Daytona Beach News-Journal |

It'll keep the new air dams from getting tore up from hitting loose wheels in the pit lanes (Okay everybody..."You picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel")
Rule in the pits along the same lines....
Ever see some of the old Jack men???
They'd do a right side front tire, and upon dropping the car, and going to the other side to change the right, They'd whip the jack around by the handle, dragging it behind them, as they swing it around them and under the left side, allet dancer pirouette style, with the jack swing wildly around them...
Thats now illegal, because several ankles, and legs were getting broken (mostly of NASCAR officials)....
Those jacks were the real, made of heavy metal, unlike the aluminum ones which weigh something like 20-30lbs Lbs now, compared to their weight back in the early 70s (90-100 Lbs and more)
I miss the old races!!!
Anyone remember 1998, during Christmas, When ESPN celebrated the 50th anniversary of NASCAR?? Something like 4 days or so of races from every era? I wish they'd do that every Christmas. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
