Stewart, Ku. Busch placed on probation for six races
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- NASCAR has placed drivers Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch on probation for the first six races of the 2008 Sprint Cup Series season, a result of their on-track altercations Friday during practice for the Budweiser Shootout.
Stewart, driver of the No. 20 Toyota and Busch, driver of the No. 2 Dodge, violated Section 12-4-A (actions detrimental to stock car racing; altercation with another competitor) of the NASCAR rule book.
The probations start Wednesday, as practice begins for the season-opening Daytona 500.
NASCAR spokesman Ramsey Poston said the drivers were disciplined solely for the on-track portion of their clash, when the drivers deliberately used their cars as battering rams. MORE
Dream....
Here ya go...
Rumor had it that Kurt punched Tony.....
Well I would have loved to been a fly on the wall when that went down....
On another note... I really don't see the toyotas doing all that well even with the Gibbs racing facilities behind them.....
It was a good race today and I all most won a $260 pot. I had Dale Jr and my friend had Tony, we were busting on each other the whole time. Sorry GL... Tony almost got it. Maybe next time.
Dodge re-ups with Penske and Ganassi: Dodge executives have taken team owners Roger Penske and Chip Ganassi out of the Toyota equation by signing new contracts with the two. That keeps Dodge with a four-team lineup, including Petty Enterprises and Gillett-Evernham. When Toyota first announced its NASCAR plans, there was considerable speculation that both Penske and Ganassi would eventually switch.(Winston Salem Journal)(2-18-2008)
This has been a dead thread, no one but me seemed interested in NASCAR so I stopped updating it but I was watching the wreck.
This kid hit the wall at over 180 mph head on, rolled over 6 times, caught on fire, and he walked away.
It shows the advancements in safety in both the cars and the tracks. The combination of the SAFER Barriers, the HANS device and the current car they are driving show just how much NASCAR has invested into keeping drivers safe since 2001.
This kid has gone from a nobody to nearly a household name literally overnight. He has been on all the sports shows and highlight reels and was on Good Morning America this morning.
Rewatch the video you can hear em in the background counting the rolls

No we care. I saw the crash, OMG! I thought the guy was going to be dead, he must be one lucky guy.
It is official. Tony Stewart is going to be released from his contract at Joe Gibbs Racing and will drive for the new Stewart Haas Racing team. Tony will have 50% ownership of the team.
Office Depot will be the primary sponsor.
No word yet on the car number. Currently the team is fielding #66 and #70 on the cars. Rumor has it that Stewart may go for the #14. It is available and was AJ Foyt's car number - Stewart's hero.
The second car is not yet known but leading the speculation is that Ryan Newman will join the team.
