Briere Scores Twice As Flyers Top Flames

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) -- Daniel Briere scored his first two goals in a Philadelphia uniform to help the Flyers beat Calgary 3-2 on Thursday night, spoiling Mike Keenan's regular-season debut behind the Flames' bench.
Mike Knuble and Briere scored in the first period to give the Flyers a 2-0 lead. The Flames tied the game on a pair of goals from Daymond Langkow.

Flyers are not going to be Stanley Cup contenders this year.

They will be better than last year.

really GL you drank out of the Stanley Cup?
i think that is a time-honored tradition and a priviledge that should be reserved for the players of the Cup-winning team only. not their wives, kids, brothers, but the PLAYERS only.

Two quick losses to the Florida teams and our skates are on the ground again. Good thing that both of those teams will probably burn out early this year....stay away from too many injuries and the Flyers should be fine come February...

So, they're in first place in the Atlantic Division, tied for it now because of the Shootout loss to the Rangers, before that they had it solo for a while.

I'm into it again, like I used to be when I lived in the city, oldest daughter is too which is great - we watch the games together, hell she watches a lot of games with me since I bought the NHL Center Ice package.

I also added to the 5 game plan by picking up tickets to all of the Saturday home games in December. And, I'm planning to sping a last minute trip on the daughter, it's next Friday the 23rd - a 1pm game against the Caps, I'm bidding on a set of Club Box tickets that comes with a Zambonie ride between the periods ...
