When Will you put up your Christmas Tree?

Will it be right after Thanksgiving?

Will it be on Christmas Eve?

Or is it somewhere in between?


For my family, we will get the tree about 2 weeks before Christmas and it comes down a day or two before New Years Day

Thanksgiving weekend. I take it down around New Years.

We usually put it up the day after Thanksgiving, as well as all the other decorations. We have waited for as long as almost Feb to take everything down.

I keep the candles in the windows until the winter is just about over, though...and any other snowmen/winter related decorations.

We will put it up the weekend/week after Thanksgiving. I let the boys do the all the ornaments while I decorate other places around the house. If it's warm that weekend my husband will put the stuff outside up.

I keep the lights outside on the deck all winter! It makes me happy!

Maybe a week or so after Thanksgiving. It comes down New Years Day without fail. Feels nice to get my space back.

In our house my husband wants them up as soon after Thanksgiving as we can get. Some years are earlier than others. We pull them down sometime the first week of the new year.

More than likely the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The day after we usually go to a friend's house in Philadelphia for the evening, so we put the tree up whenever we recover the next morning!

The tree and decorations go up the day after Thanksgiving. They come down right after New Years eve.

We did already put some lights out front - my husband was up there cleaning the gutters two weeks ago and I said, "Hey Hon! Since you're up there..." and I threw the light strands up onto the roof. I knew that if I didn't get him while he was actually on the roof, they would never get put up (hello no lights house for the past four years!)

And he only gave me minor "stink eye" for it. Score!

We haven't put the lights on yet, but they're ready to roll.

When I moved out and on my own, we had a tradition of decorating the tree on the night before Christmas. For the past few years I have not put a tree up. It is just too much work putting it together and getting the lights and all... And worse than that is the taking down of the thing!

I wish Rent-a-Center would rent out decorated trees... I would get one but I would not want anyone to know it came from Rent-a-Center and thinking I got bad credit or something....

If my wife had her way.. It'd be up last month and taken down in March...

Since we cut ours down every year, we can't do it too early.. So we usually put it up a week or two after Thanksgiving and take it all down New Year's Day..

We usually put up the first week of December and take down a day or two after CHristmas. We aren't putting a tree up this year and we didn't put up one last year either. It's too much of a hassle with the dogs. If we ever have kids I'm sure that will change but for now i'm fine with going over my moms and looking at her tree...lol.

We get a live tree and put it up a week and a half before Xmas. I always take it down sometime during the first week in January.

I'm guessing all you people who start earlier have fake trees, right? My fav part of Xmas is the tree but I can't imagine putting one up earlier than 2 weeks before, especially live trees.

I don't decorate the outside with Xmas stuff, I only use a few winter type decorations like snowflake lights. I'm a complete snob when it comes to Xmas decor on a house or yard. I have a big issue with those giant inflatable things.... I only see them as targets.

Actually, in a house with three cats, it's not wise to have real trees. I love the aroma, but then there's the needles in the carpet, not to mention the expense!

I live in a neighborhood filled with those awful inflatables, hate 'em. My house gets icicle lights around the front porch and candles in the windows with a wreath on the door. That's it. Oh, and all of the lights are white.

We decorate the day after Thanksgiving and take them down the weekend after Christmas.

I am terrified to put them up since Hannah is into everything...I can just see her pulling the Christmas tree over!

God I hate those inflatables. Back on topic now.

The tree was up yesterday. Yup, that's right but the lights are the only thing on it now. We're going out of town for Thanksgiving and figured we'd get a start on it. Usually take it down around New Years.
