A top 10 of irritating expressions has been compiled by researchers at Oxford University.

The most annoying phrase has got to be: "It is what it is."

"It's not rocket science" is a bad one, as well as "With all due respect" and "No offense, but..."

"The Bears have a good scheme to defense against the run." Defense? Defense is not, nor has it ever been, a verb. Stop trying to make it one. Defend, people. It's defend.
