There was a whole rash of people dropping dead years ago from pot that had been processed with some chemical to speed up the drying time.

khat
peyote
salvia divinorum
tobacco
The point is:
Plant does not = safe.
Wolfsbane
Dogbane
Nightshade
Ergot
Hemlock
Crown Vetch
Lilly of the Valley
Foxglove
Pokeweed
All a lot of plants that I would never consider ingesting in any form. Even if they are "just plants." | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to Pythoness For This Useful Post: | |

All of the plants listed above have the power to both harm and heal. A truly responsible user will approach any of them with the caution and respect they are due.
Prohibition turned America into a nation of binge drinkers... seeing this, I doubt we're ready for commercial distribution of pot, but for now I'll go for decriminalization. There's no need to waste taxpayer money incarcerating a stoner who's not harming anyone when there are so many wackos out there needing to be kept away from society....

EDIT: and you do make a valid point about it being a plant is not good enough for a clear pass on society, i still think it should be legalized.... |

That is all. | PY, I agree that it's not a valid argument on it's own. You are absolutely right that there are many herbs ans plants out there that can harm or help. It's all in how they are used and processed. I guess the point I was trying to get across is that pot is like tobacco in that it can be smoked after dried, it doesn't have to be processed (only dried) in order to be used. IMO it's along the lines of tobacco and alcohol. Not the best thing for ya but also not like some of the designer man made drugs either. Mary hoo hoo (ok just HAD to type that! LMAO) also does have medicinal properties too that I feel are ignored many times because it is such a taboo illegal substance.

My Mood: | | | Re: Children's Book About Cannabis: "It's Just a Plant" [PICS] If pot was legal. People would grow it themselves. No one would buy it from some shady guy on the corner. They would have it growing near there tomatoes and such. Just like any drug. A person has a responsibility to control themselves, and not drive. It could be enforced just like alcohol is.
I also believe selling it should be illegal if all you need to do is grow it yourself. That could cut the dealers out anyway, since most people would grow it on their own.
